II National Grappling Championship held for U15, U20 and Seniors
Exciting grappling matches were seen at the national championship in Podgorica.
In Podgorica, on Sunday, 29 March 2026, the Second National Championship of Montenegro in grappling was held for U15, U20 and senior competitors. Although grappling is a non-Olympic wrestling discipline, its popularity and participation continue to grow worldwide.
Competitors delivered very high-quality bouts, and the organization of the event was at a strong level. In the final standings, RK Perjanici (Nikšić) took first place, RK Zabjelo (Podgorica) second, and RK Ares (Herceg Novi) third.
After the official part of the competition, exhibition matches were held in the senior category, where the title of the best went to RK Ares coach Dejan Šofranac.
International referees with competitive and officiating experience oversaw the matches, and a two-day seminar on United World Wrestling grappling rules was held over the weekend.
The competition was opened by the President of the Wrestling Federation of Montenegro, Boris Bošković.
