First funding awarded to the Wrestling Federation of Montenegro
Contracts for co-financing national sports federations were awarded at Vila Gorica. For the first time, the Wrestling Federation of Montenegro received funding for its operations.
Today, a ceremony was held at Vila Gorica to present contracts for co-financing the work programs of national sports federations. This year, the Government of Montenegro allocated a record €7 million for the needs of sports federations.
The contracts were presented by the Prime Minister, Mr. Milojko Spajić, who announced that the state will provide additional support through improvements to the legal framework, enabling the sustainable development of Montenegrin sport.
During the ceremony, the President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Mr. Dušan Simonović, also addressed attendees, emphasizing that sport is not only competition, but an investment in health, identity, values, and the future of Montenegro.
As this is the first year of the federation’s work, this is also the first contract allocating funds for the operation and functioning of the federation. On behalf of the Wrestling Federation, the contract was received by President Boris Bošković.
